Cancer rates are rising and many people are looking to natural prevention as a way of reducing their cancer risks. The serious and unwanted side effects associated with conventional cancer treatments are certainly more than enough to warrant concern over cancer development, and are sure to steer many people towards a path of natural health and wellness.
Baking soda and lemon juice may sound like an odd combination that’s more suited towards cleaning pots rather than preventing cancer. However, the alkalinity of this combination is what makes it so very special.
Many studies have indicated that a lower pH level, which indicates acidity, can actually increase tumor growth and cancer cell proliferation. A study published by Cancer Research found that sodium bicarbonate, which is the chemical name for baking soda, has the ability to immediately alkalize the tissues surrounding a tumor. This is important because alkaline environments can help to inhibit tumor growth. One might be thinking, “But aren’t lemons acidic? Wouldn’t that make them bad for me?” And you would not be at fault for thinking that. Lemons are indeed a very acidic fruit prior to consumption, but their mineral content also means that they have a very alkalizing content on the body.
Lemons are also loaded with micronutrients. Limonides, for example, are nutritional compounds that are found in lemon juice. These compounds have been found to be anti-carcinogenic. Lemons are also rich in vitamin C, which is an incredible antioxidant vitamin. Vitamin C is already being used as an alternative therapy for the treatment of certain cancers. Studies have indicated that it may even be more effective than several conventional cancer treatment drugs. One study indicated that lemon extract was 10,000 times more potent against cancer than the mainstream chemotherapy drug known as Adriamycin.
Combining lemon juice and baking soda is a powerful natural remedy to help support good health and prevent cancer. This combination is a great way to help promote an alkaline state across the body and inhibit cancer growth and development. The best way to take lemon and baking soda is a simple recipe. Just add one teaspoon of baking soda to about seven ounces of lemon juice. You can use some clean, filtered water to dilute the solution and make it more palatable, as well.
In addition to lemon and baking soda, there are many other foods that you can eat to help promote good health. What you choose to stay away from is also important. Red meats, dairy products, refined grains and added sugars tend to be more acidic foods, while most fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds are great for promoting alkalinity naturally. Sprouts, avocados, broccoli, tomatoes, flax seeds, spinach, grapefruit and watermelon are just a few foods that can serve to help promote an alkaline state.
